Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 403 Loper Avenue about 6:55 p.m. on Thursday (May 28).
The identity of the victim, 26, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Patterson and R. Naughton reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at a residence at the above address and found the victim unresponsive in the living room. He had sustained blunt force trauma and gunshot wounds. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.
A witness told officers that two suspects forced entry to the residence and assaulted and shot the victim. A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting appeared to be a narcotics-related incident.
