WANTED: Fugitive responsible for family violence - Warrant active as of 5/24/20

Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department's Major Assaults / Family Violence Division need the public's assistance locating fugitive Matthew Benavides, who is wanted for two counts of Felony Assault – Family Violence (with a previous conviction enhancement). 
 
On Tuesday, December 31, 2019, fugitive Matthew Benavides was involved in a Family Violence Assault that took place in the 7700 block of Avenue H in Houston, Texas. During the incident, the fugitive struck the victim several times in the head causing injury and pain. In July of 2019, the fugitive committed a Felony Family Violence Assault that was also filed in Harris County. The fugitive was charged under Harris County warrant # 1662300 and 1638831. 

Public records shows Benavides has several convictions including:

Assault family member – misdemeanor - 2018
Assault family member – felony - 2016
Assault family member – misdemeanor – 2011 x 2

Fugitive Matthew Benavides is a white male, 34 years old, approximately 6'02", 240 lbs., with brown eyes and short dark hair.
